Melissa Batalden Mendez has a college degree in family studies and a graduate degree in social work. Through her own family experiences, her studies, her work, and her travels, Melissa has gained a deep appreciation for families and their experiences. She has a strong interest in all ritual and celebrations related to family, and is especially interested in the transition women experience as they become mothers, whether by birth or through adoption. Melissa is a trained celebrant who specializes in ceremonies and rituals for families, with a focus on Blessing Way ceremonies, motherhood ceremonies and retreats, baby welcomings and namings, and all types of adoption ceremonies.
