Kim Kirkley
Wedding Celebrant
New York, NY
Kim Kirkley seeks to inspire and elicit the sense of hope, communion, and peace that comes from being actively engaged in commemorating life’s transitions. Especially interested in the African diaspora, the Third World, and rites of passage programs, Kim is a student of culture, mythology, and history. In exploring these interests, Kim has volunteered with numerous cultural and social justice organizations including Kitua cha Sheria (the only free legal advice center in Kenya, East Africa), the Haitian Refugee Center (a multi-service community center in Miami, Florida), and visited with Ileaiye (a multi-service community center in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil). While with the American Friends Service Committee and a public school system, Kim coordinated mentorship and cultural enrichment programs for low-achieving and court-involved youth of color. A graduate of Hampton University and the Rutgers University School of Law (Newark), Kim currently makes her home in Brooklyn.
